TOEIC Practice: Emergency Logistics & Schedule Conflict
CONTEXT
Engineer (Mark): "Sarah, something came up with the server issue at the Banqiao data center. I need to get there immediately. Can you book a taxi for me right now? I need to arrive no later than 9:30 PM tonight."
Assistant (Sarah): "Understood, Mark. I'll get a taxi booked for you. Given the current traffic reports from the city center, it will likely take at least 45 minutes to get there. I'll aim for an 8:30 PM departure to be safe."
Engineer (Mark): "That sounds good. Also, I have that internal meeting with the engineering team at 5:00 PM today. Please notify them that I won't be able to make it and reschedule it to tomorrow morning."
Assistant (Sarah): "Got it. I'll send an update to the team now. Just to confirm, you want me to cancel the 5:00 PM sync, and I'll push it to 9:00 AM tomorrow, correct?"
Engineer (Mark): "Actually, let's make it 9:30 AM. Gary mentioned he had a site visit earlier that morning, so 9:30 works better for everyone."

English Practice: Hair Styling Optimization
Phase 1: Weekly Input (Hair Styling Optimization)
For a long time, I never used any hair styling products. My rule of thumb was simple: don't bother. First, I had no idea how to use them, and second, because I commuted by scooter, a helmet would just flatten my hair anyway. However, everything changed when I sold my scooter and switched to public transportation. As I started growing my hair out, I realized I needed a better solution to manage my look.
I started by learning the basics of hair styling. Now, I mainly use a simple hairspray(GATSBY). It’s a game-changer. It solves the annoying problem of my bangs falling down and covering my eyes. Learning to style my hair was a small step, but it really makes my day better. It’s just a simple way to stay neat and comfortable.
Vocabulary & Phrases
Phase 2: Draft My Own Version
In working days, I take a shower after waking up, and use hairspray to keep my grew out bangs up. After that, I commute to Taipei by bus, so I don't need to worry anything will flatten my hairstyle. Commuting by public transportation is really a game-changer, it makes my life more neat and comfortable, though it looks like inconvenient for most of people.
Phase 3: AI Refactoring
On working days, I take a shower right after waking up and use hairspray to keep my grown-out bangs in place. Since I commute to Taipei by bus, I don't have to worry about anything flattening my hairstyle anymore. Commuting by public transportation has been a real game-changer for me; it makes my life much more neat and comfortable, even though it might seem inconvenient to most people.
